The recognition....

"The only way to make people respect you and your things get done is when you have achieved something too great for the people to achieve or you have that invincible stack of knowledge with you.....
So Strive hard for knowledge as knowledge is power!!!!"
---Srivatsava

This is wat i have written long back somewhere deep inside a book...... n i really wonder wat made me to do so...
"Recognition" is the key word why people struggle all day in and day out without realising that they are wasting the precious time of thier life......

There is a story for this which i have read long back.... so here it goes.....

once upon a time .... (as usual the same phrase ;)) there was a school teacher who has arranged a get together of alumni students in his residence. He wanted to test how many of his students have changed!!! so he decided to test them...
He served tea to the students in beautifully designed porcelain cups , elegant glassware , graceful bronze cups , normal steel glasses , plastic cups and the mud ones.....
Then he was surprosed to see all of them take the beautiful porcelain , bronze and glass cups and almost all neglected the plastic and mud ones....
After seeing the state of his students he said "My dear fellows ,
i have observed that all of you have changed a lot !!! (imagine the plight of his students now!!!)
I have served all of you in different cups but nobody seems to be interested in normal cups though the tea in all of them is the same!!!! All of you seem to be enjoyig the grandeur of the cups in which tea is served rather than the tea itself!!!
Life's like this my dear students....people don't enjoy life but seem to derive enjoyment from the earthly pleasures and the way thier life is led!!! infact they pretend to njoy life that way without actually realising wat enjoyment is!!"

The other day when i have visited LS,HC,IMAX,eatstreet.. etc.. with my frenz i was really wondering wat has got into the people's mind!!! all of them were trying to show off thier extravagance!!! costly n skin hugging dresses, latest design dressware , just released cellphones and ofcourse the latest sensation The ipod...
Though people don't really need all this to live a life!!!! they ive more importance to these things and forget that "they are indeed not enjoying but just showing off!!! and the real enjoyment needs no extravagance"
The real enjoyment comes only when you can feel it!!! only when your passions are met and even drinnking a cup of coffee on a road side stall with a nice friend and enjoying the weather can be more enjoyable than taking your sweetheart to the most happening disco , wearing the latest fashionware and feeling uncomfortable there!!!

So wake up my friends and live every moment of your life to the fullest rather than worrying all the time about making it "seemingly better"!! :)

This is the time of maturity of ur mind.U have started to think of life as a grown up.

Let me tell U something if the same coffee cups were given to some children of 2yrs old they wud have surely preffered the shiny cups to mud cups.

Try to have some passions in ur life and try to achieve them and you will automatically enjoy ur life.

"Try to have some passions in ur life and try to achieve them and you will automatically enjoy ur life."
I do agree with you... but what i wanted to say is "how much ever we try to achieve we need to get satisfied n feel the life as it goes... instead of always thinking about our passions all da time" ;) wat say??

lemme tell u wat. this philosophy - an entirely different one from the one you had before you were "enlightened"(..hehe..just being sarcastic :) ) can be the result of two happenings, viz.,

1) You got almost every thought out of your own mind, and you _would_ have got it some time later even if the above-mentioned incident hadn't occured, in which case the incident just occured as a launch-pad.

2) this can be attributed to be a kind of
"shmashaana vairaagya", where you derive vairaagya purely from the surroundings and it is rather short-lived.

So, if you really think and you _are_ in situation 1, it's well and good. Even if you think and you _are_ in situation 2, it's not much of a problem. Now, if you think you are in situation 1 and you are in situation 2, the situation might lead you to a kind of hypocritical life in which you might want to do a certain thing a certain way (for the time, one which opposes the philosophy of yours), but you think you need to follow your philosophy because, you have already told all of your friends about it.

P.S1: If you felt harsh reading these comments, you _are_ taking my 0-paise worth comments seriously, and I feel greatly obliged.

P.S2: If you are laughing at my comments, I think it's time to think a bit more about what I said.... :D

small correction:

...if you think you are in situation 1 and you *_actually_* are in situation 2...

Nice post!!A thought provoking one.But i somehow feel u r contradicting ur true self..

Anonymous said...

kk echoed the exact things i wanted to tell .. these transient feelings wont last long ..thats the "gist". The last para sounds good. But dont u think having an ipod might as well be one way of "living life to the fullest" for that person? and with enough money to spend anybody (u and me included) would live a hi-fi life.Dont u think so?

Hi...This is sravani !! Lemme share my feeling with all u buddies. Your last para is a fact which every one must accept once in their life time.
The core matter in your blog is better be what we are.when we try to enjoy the position which we aren't suitable to, we'll lose our identity.
Finally they vl be no our identity left.enjoy the culture but don't lose your self to show off...If you are a person do enjoying showing off, U'll realize that you are not enjoying but insulting others who r inferior to u when u encounter a person who is far greater than u n showing off b4 u

Hi Sravani,

Well I guess you are right, I was just too moved by soo much artificial life that I decided to write it :)...
